The U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development released data for new residential sales in November 2013.
According to the data, the seasonally adjusted annual rate for new single-family houses sold in November 2013 was estimated at 464,000, dropping 2.1 percent from October’s revised rate of 474,000. Compared to last year, the rate has increased 16.6 percent from the November 2012 rate of 398,000.
November’s median sales price of new houses sold was $270,900, while the average sales price was recorded at $340,300. As for the number of new houses for sale at the end of November, the seasonally adjusted estimate was 167,000, representing a supply of 4.3 months at the current sales rate.
